This past week I had the privilege of documenting Peelander-Z as they bid farewell to Peelander Red after 12 years of service to the band. The highlight of the shoot was a sold out final show at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, where people flew from all over the country to attend the event. Though I missed Thanksgiving to film the events of this past week, I couldn’t be more thankful for the access and kindness the band has shown me throughout this process. I’ve been wanting to tell this story for years and I’m so glad I finally got the chance to do so.
This year I am thankful to be filming Peelander-Z on thanksgiving.
Canon USA kindly decided to loan me their three brand new Cinema Primes (24mm/50mm/85mm) to use on my Peelander-Z documentary! I can’t wait to put them to good use. So far we’ve used a ton of different Canon brand gear to capture this doc in a way that would not have been possible a short few years ago. And I’m so happy that the folks at Canon liked our treatment enough to support us with this top notch gear.
